1) Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), Kepong

Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), Kepong occupies an area of 600 hectares that is surrounded by the Lagong Hill Forest Reserve. One of its latest attractions is the Sky Walk (photo above). Other activities that can be carried out here include having a picnic with your family, jogging on the Rover Track, walking under the canopy, camping, hiking, cycling and studying the beauty of nature.

Trivia: FRIM was previously a mining site before it was turned into a vegetable garden and later, a popular eco-tourism destination with a cosy and quiet atmosphere.

2) Kanching Eco Forest Park

Kanching Eco Forest Park is a must-visit eco-tourism destination in Rawang. This forest park has hiking trails with different levels of difficulties but the ultimate reward is its 7 layers, 208 meter-high waterfalls.

3) Skytrex Sungai Congkak, Hulu Langat

Known as "Malaysia's First Flying Fox Park", Skytrex Sungai Congkak is surrounded by greenery and has a river flowing under its resistance path. Entrance fees are between RM50 and RM130, based on the packages chosen.

4) Bukit Broga (Broga Hill), Hulu Langat

Bukit Broga is suitable for all ages as it offers an easy hiking trail. Visitors to the hill, which is 400 meters high above the sea level, would normally take just an hour to reach to the top. What is interesting about Bukit Broga is that its top is filled with green grass, which makes a beautiful landscape for some photos to capture the great memories from the visit. What's better, there is also a coconut drink stall at the top of the hill for some refreshing moments while soaking in the scenery.

Trivia: If you climb Bukit Broga 10 times, it is equivalent to climbing Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Malaysia!

5) White Water Rafting & Water Tubing, Hulu Selangor

Head over to Kuala Kubu Bharu if you want to have fun in the water. This is where you can try white water rafting for about 8km along Selangor River. This water activity is suitable for everyone between 8 years old and 88 years old.

Besides white water rafting, water tubing or simply, tubing, is also offered in Kuala Kubu Bharu. This tubing activity is fun especially with family and friends because it does not require a paddle but instead, you'd only rely on the river current. If the current is strong, then the speed of the tube will be faster. Otherwise, everyone needs to temper with the current using their hands to move forward.

6) Taman Alam Kuala Selangor

Taman Alam Kuala Selangor (Kuala Selangor Nature Park) is a park that is surrounded by beautiful mangrove swamps. Visitors can walk along an almost 4km-long route provided to explore the natural environment. For bird lovers, there is also an observation tower, where you can view and perhaps, take pictures of about 150 species that can be found in the area, including migrating birds from Siberia and Russia.
